Professional Billing Manager
Oversees the professional billing staff and performs functions relative to the setup, maintenance, review, and analysis of accounts receivable for professional services. Has full responsibility for a wide range of projects impacting the accurate and timely billing and follow-up of professional billing services. Assists in the development of department policies and procedures and evaluates and recommends methods for more efficient operations. Monitors key department and staff efficiency indicators and ensures maximum reimbursement. Conducts interviews, hires staff, administers corrective actions, completes performance evaluations, and facilitates staff development and training.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business / healthcare or related field.
- Requires 2 years of leadership experience in a hospital or large physician billing office.
- Requires 3 years of experience in professional billing or related experience.
- Requires the ability to analyze problems relating to the efficiency of the billing and collection functions, as well as to resolve employee relations issues.
- Requires excellent communication skills in order to advise, to counsel, and to direct the work of employees and to effectively interact with employees from other departments in the resolution of problems.
- Working knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding, health insurance practices, industry regulations, business office operations, and accounts receivable and financial reporting technology.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Children's organizational code of ethics and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to Children's business.
- Normal hybrid office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.
- Prior experience in a large health system managing professional billing functions preferred. Experience in Epic Resolute preferred.
