Med / Surg RN Job Details

Job Title : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment

Location : Saint Louis, MO 63131 (Missouri nursing jobs)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Healthcare Setting : Critical Illness and Rehabilitation

Shift : 12-Hour Nights

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks

Openings : 3 Med / Surg RN positions

Start Date : November 10, 2025

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact state)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience (2+ years preferred)

Stepdown, LTACH, or ICU nursing experience required

Ability to work every other weekend and holiday as needed

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans

Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and goals

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on patient education and quality clinical outcomes

Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the time of admission

Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity and safety

Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and clinical support staff

Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and healthcare staff

Contribute positively to team building and a supportive unit culture

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
