Now Hiring : Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Setting : Community-Based Outpatient Care | Location : Center 50+, Salem, Oregon
HWY Physical Therapy is looking for a compassionate and reliable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our mission of helping older adults stay strong, mobile, and independent. This role is based in Center 50+ , a dynamic and welcoming senior center in Salem where older adults are regularly participating in events, fitness classes, and wellness screenings.
You will assist in delivering outpatient therapy services and play an active role in the OTAGO Balance and Strength Training Program , including occasional in-home visits . You'll also help patients feel comfortable and confident in using the on-site fitness center through equipment orientation sessions and individualized care.

Job Roles and Responsibilities :
1. Patient Care :
Implement treatment plans developed by physical therapists.Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional training.Educate patients on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and strength.2. Therapeutic Procedures :
Administer modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot / cold packs.Monitor patients’ responses to treatments and report to the supervising physical therapist.Adjust treatment sessions as directed based on patient progress.3. Documentation :
Accurately record patient treatments and progress notes.Ensure documentation complies with regulatory standards and is completed in a timely manner.Assist with the preparation of discharge summaries and patient reports.4. Patient Interaction :
Build rapport and maintain professional relationships with patients.Encourage and motivate patients to adhere to therapy programs.Address patient concerns and provide reassurance during therapy sessions.5. Team Collaboration :
Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare team members.Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care plans.Assist in training and supervising physical therapy aides and students.6. Administrative Support :
Help with scheduling patient appointments and managing the therapy calendar.Maintain therapy equipment and ensure treatment areas are clean and organized.Assist with ordering and inventory of therapy supplies and equipment.7. Patient Education :
Provide instructions on home exercise programs and safety precautions.Educate patients on the proper use of assistive devices such as walkers, crutches, and braces.Deliver information on lifestyle changes and strategies to prevent further injury.8. Compliance and Safety :
Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.Follow facility policies and procedures, including infection control and emergency procedures.Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in physical therapy.9. Professional Development :
Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and stay updated with advances in physical therapy.Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.Seek feedback and engage in professional growth and development.A PTA License in the state of OR is required.

Pay : $32.00 per hour
