Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Erie, Pennsylvania 16501 (Pennsylvania nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts / week)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1630-$1750

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for Pennsylvania healthcare jobs)

BLS certification (required before first shift)

ACLS certification (required before first shift)

Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience

Med / Surg nursing experience or related specialties preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for Med / Surg patients

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and participate in patient rehabilitation programs

Initiate discharge planning and provide patient / family education from admission

Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and procedures

Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team and seek consultation as needed

Foster a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education for nursing jobs
