Description
The Corporate Accounting, Payroll & Benefits Accountant (Senior Analyst level) plays a key role in managing daily corporate accounting operations. This highly organized professional will work independently and collaboratively, delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service to stakeholders across the organization—from the Leadership Team to individual team members.
Broad Responsibilities Include
Analyze monthly operating expenses and perform general ledger functions (journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, trial balance review)Update and reconcile monthly balance sheet and general operating expense schedulesManage corporate accounting ERP and reporting and budgeting systems; assist in preparing financial statementsPrepare GASB87 and GASB96 amortization schedules and reportsPerform budget vs. actual comparisonsManage all accounts payable functions including vendor maintenance, invoice review, GL coding, expense reports, payment approvals and processing, and 1099 formsCash Management & BudgetingInitiate wire / ACH payments and internal transfers
Support the annual corporate budget process and collaborate with internal budget managersAudit & Tax SupportAssist with the annual external financial audit
Support preparation of the annual Form 990 corporate tax returnPayroll & Benefits AccountingCollaborate with the payroll team to prepare related journal entries in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central
Insurance AdministrationCoordinate annual renewal of corporate insurance policies, including exposure schedules, applications, and cost analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a similar roleStrong understanding of general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and WordExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectivelyHigh level of integrity, transparency, and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical standardsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesPositive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a commitment to supporting organizational goals and fostering a collaborative work environmentPreferred Qualifications
Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central and HRIS systemsExperience with SAP Concur for expense managementWorking knowledge of GASB standards, including experience implementing new guidanceThis role requires in-office, 4 days a week, Monday thru Thursday.
