Job Summary:
The Resident Relations Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between residents, families, and facility staff to ensure concerns, complaints, and compliments are addressed in a timely, empathetic, and effective manner. This role plays a vital part in promoting a resident-centered culture, supporting quality improvement efforts, and fostering positive community relationships.
Job Duties:
Essential Functions
- Serve as the first point of contact for residents, patients, and families to voice concerns, complaints, or compliments.
- Listen actively and empathetically to understand and clarify the nature of any feedback
- Coordinate with relevant departments (e.g., nursing, dietary, housekeeping) to investigate and resolve concerns
- Ensure all issues are addressed in a timely, respectful, and appropriate manner that prioritizes resident well-being.
- Accurately document all complaints, concerns, and resolutions in accordance with facility procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date logs and generate reports for quality assurance and leadership review.
- Provide timely updates to residents and families regarding the status of their concerns.
- Confirm satisfaction with the resolution and ensure clear, ongoing communication
- Educate residents and families about their rights and the facility’s complaint resolution process
- Provide support with interpretation or clarification of policies and procedures when needed.
- Identify and report complaint trends and unresolved issues to leadership or compliance officers.
- Ensure all actions and resolutions align with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., Title 22 in California).
- Recognize and analyze patterns in resident concerns to recommend service improvements.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and implement proactive strategies that enhance resident satisfaction.

- Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
- Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork.
- Demonstrate willingness to help other staff whenever needed.
- Observe standard precaution procedures and all safe workplace measures.
Job Specifications:
- Prior experience in resident relations, social services, customer service, or a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of applicable state regulations (e.g., Title 22) and resident rights.
- Compassion and respect for older adults and those in Assisted Living settings
- Proficiency in documentation and basic office software.

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on resident needs and staffing.
