Grant Writer

LSSE Civil Engineers and Surveyors is looking for a Grant Writer to join our team. We are a 180+ person civil engineering and surveying consulting firm with over 10 locations primarily located in western Pennsylvania. LSSE’s projects support public infrastructure and community development. Our clients include local boroughs and townships, water and sewer authorities, industrial and residential land developers, and utility companies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in grant writing or funding development, preferably in infrastructure, public works, or municipal services.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering terminology, infrastructure project lifecycles, and government grant application processes (e.g., DCNR, DOT, EPA, FEMA, USDA, etc.).
• Excellent technical writing and research skills with attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Familiarity with public-sector funding sources, including federal and state grant programs relevant to municipalities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant databases and portals (e.g., Grants.gov, SAM.gov, state-specific systems).
