This position requires travel to Bethesda communities, including Missouri and Illinois.

Summary

Responsible for compliance and risk assessment and coordination in the assigned facility. Ensures compliance and manages risk matters across all Bethesda Health Group facilities, including long-term care, independent living, hospice, home care, and assisted living. Acts as a resource for staff on compliance and risk issues.

Conducts internal audits according to an annual schedule, including medical documentation, employee records, and other documents to ensure regulatory compliance. Prepares reports and presents findings to facility leadership and during quality improvement meetings. Performs focused audits as requested, including audits of third-party vendors for compliance. Supports facilities during surveys and assists with corrective actions.

Tracks adverse outcomes and high-risk areas, investigates serious events, and documents findings. Supports investigations of serious events and drafts confidential reports for litigation. Promotes a culture of safety and encourages reporting of events without fear of retaliation. Maintains confidentiality of claims and litigation-related information.

Works with leadership to identify and reduce risks. Provides after-hours support to facility administrators and directors of nursing. Oversees medical records compliance, discharge documentation, and social services documentation. Offers compliance and risk training to departments and assists in developing policies and procedures. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, bachelor's degree preferred
• Nursing license in Missouri and Illinois
• At least two years of long-term care experience, including one year as MDS Coordinator
• Experience in acute care highly desirable
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid
• Experience in training or teaching adults preferred
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Manual dexterity and coordination for working with equipment
• Ability to communicate detailed information orally and in writing
• Good visual acuity for reading and understanding directions
• Frequent travel required; ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend
• Occasional hours outside regular business hours

Pay range : $59,810 - $94,539 annually
