What You'll Do
As a Boring Crew Operator, you'll be responsible for operating directional boring equipment and supporting the installation of underground utilities such as conduit, pipe, or cable using trenchless methods that minimize surface disruption. You'll work under the direction of the Foreman to complete daily bore operations safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Responsibilities :
- Operating directional bore rigs and related equipment to drill pilot holes, ream to required size, and pull conduit or pipe through the bore path.
- Assisting with locating existing underground utilities before beginning work to ensure safe operations.
- Monitoring bore alignment, depth, and accuracy during operation.
- Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on boring equipment.
- Assisting in setup and cleanup of job sites, including site restoration after installations.
- Supporting crew members with other construction or underground installation tasks as needed.
- Following all safety guidelines, procedures, and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Reporting any issues, delays, or hazards to the Foreman promptly.
What You'll Have
Minimum 2 years of experience in underground boring, directional drilling, or similar utility installation work.Experience operating or assisting with directional bore equipment, reamers, and tracking systems.Basic understanding of underground utility construction practices and safety procedures.Ability to read and follow bore plans, drawings, and instructions from the Foreman.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments.Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.Valid driver's license- CDL preferred, and ability to travel to various job sites as required.What You'll Get
