We are looking to hire a non-exempt (hourly) Merchandiser immediately. This new hire will work in the field, and support the Baltimore / Washington, DC region and surrounding areas for Gourmet Garden.

Position Overview
This Merchandiser will be focused on servicing Retail Supermarkets, to increase sales of the Gourmet Garden range. Merchandisers will serve as Brand Ambassadors, assisting Product Departments in merchandising Gourmet Garden stock, addressing out of stocks with suggested orders, manage out of code product and educate department staff on the features and benefits of the Gourmet Garden range. The role of Merchandiser will allow the teams to focus on and increase sales in all banners while providing our in-store Produce Departments with the highest quality of customer service.
Responsibilities
Shelf Presentation - In Store PresenceAll authorized items available in each banner at all times per PlanogramAll shelf ticketing (UPTs) in placeDisplay and POS materials clean and in good working orderAttention to "Best Before" date via rotation of stock (FIFO-first in first out), use of IRC (instant rebate coupon) as authorized.Support promotional activity in place where required and executed effectively at store level; communication with Produce Department and customersOrder Generation No Out of StocksMerchandisers will work in tandem with Produce Manager / department assisting them in ordering product.Will prepare a suggested order using the one step order pad or scan sheet; will check back room / coolers for stock and refill as necessaryDevelop trust and integrity with the Product Department; serve as the order liaison with the goal of having the full range of authorized items available in all banners for customer purchaseTerritory Sales / Marketing OpportunitiesIdentify and implement store level opportunities for increased sales in all bannersIncorporate and communicate core marketing messages that resonate with Produce Departments to serve their needs in the fresh herb categoryBe the trusted representative that surpasses the Produce Department expectations for service, knowledge and presentationCollaborate and communicate with internal Sales team on Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats in territory via SWOT AnalysisParticipate in Regional / National shows as requested and as reasonableAssist in Blitzes to assigned accounts when requested and as reasonableAdministrative ResponsibilitiesDevelop efficient and time effective territory routingRecord daily calls with appropriate before and after photographSubmit all field activity daily within our Go Spot Check applicationPrepare and submit accurate and compliant expense report & timesheetCheck email upon commencing day in the field and respond to email in a timely mannerParticipate in regularly scheduled calls or meetingsWeekly reports due on happenings through the weekMonthly picture reportRequired Qualifications
Proven and successful track record in retail or merchandising environment.Experience communicating with store management and associates and building positive relationships.Prior success in meeting performance goals within a structured environment.Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.Must be at least 18 years or older and eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship, for U.S.-based positions.24 hour / 7 days a week computer access for online reporting systems.Strong computer skills utilizing the Internet, email and Microsoft Office Suite.Independent, self-motivated and organized.Flexible and adaptable and able to work a flexible Monday thru Friday daytime schedule.Access to reliable daily transportation to travel within your territory.High school graduate.Maintain a valid driver's license and car insurance with the STATE REQUIRED MINIMUM coverage.As a general policy, McCormick does not offer employment visa sponsorships upon hire or in the future.
Base Salary : $21.00
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and / or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Dividend Program.
