Central State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (DBHDS) , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with meaningful leadership in a state-of-the-art behavioral health facility.

What Youll Do

Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric care across the hospital

Lead and support multidisciplinary treatment teams

Prescribe and manage psychiatric medication plans

Guide comprehensive discharge planning in collaboration with families and CSBs

Participate in on-call rotations and performance improvement initiatives

Mentor students and clinical staff

Support and assist with EHR training and implementation

What We're Looking For

Valid Virginia medical license and DEA registration (or eligibility prior to employment)

Strong experience in psychiatric care

Proven leadership ability and collaborative mindset

Proficiency with electronic health record systems
