Key responsibilities :
- This is an ITQ Dynamic Talent Bench, full-time track, 6-month contract position located in Kansas City, Missouri. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Kansas City, Missouri and be willing to work in a manufacturing environment.
- This assignment is hybrid in that on-site work will be performed at a manufacturing site located in Kansas City, and they can work from home when not needed on-site. Personal or agency provided technology will be used.
Job Summary :
The Experienced Packaging Engineer will be a part of a fully integrated cross-functional team, working closely with R&D Platforms, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Marketing. The team is responsible for re-launching a brand and advancing those priorities.The role is very focused on successfully delivering against key development projects, generating a pipeline of new ideas and supporting key system needs at our production facilities while maintaining high quality standards for our materialsKey accountabilities :
Build strong relationships with key businesses and platform partners in order to support new product launches and other key initiativesProactively lead collaboration with cross-functional partners to develop margin improvement and technical innovation opportunitiesConduct and / or manage commissioning, start-up, supplier experiments, trials, and analyses to validate and advance technical packaging opportunitiesBuild internal and external networks, relationships and understanding of internal and external customer needs to effectively influence and gain support for initiativesEffective partner with supplier resources against key initiatives, showing a bias for resultsProvide effective communication and documentation of work including technical plans, specification creation / modification, experimental reports, financial analysis, and management updatesBuild and leverage technical depth of technical material knowledge to drive innovation and margin improvementsCollaborate and influence both internally and externallyMinimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Packaging or related field5+ years of Package Engineering experienceSolid understanding of product commercialization process from packaging design to manufacturingDemonstrated expertise in application of process and package engineering solutions that apply to consumer-packaged goodsExperience creating technical packaging drawingsExperience with working on team projects at corporate and plant level, and with engineering firms, vendors and contractorsGood interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively network face-to-face with business teamsSelf-directed, motivated and good time managementManage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, SharePoint, TOPSPreferred qualifications :
Experience in the manufacturing industry, food industry, or related fieldExperience in new production startup processExperience using Interspec, Optiva or a similar Product Lifecycle Management system
