Lead Desktop and Endpoint Engineer

Join Cooley's Technology Enterprise Engineering team as a Lead Desktop and Endpoint Engineer, where our culture is centered around exceptional customer service. In this critical role, you will be recognized for your commitment to serving our users while managing technical and operational responsibilities.

The Lead Desktop and Endpoint Engineer plays a key role in the specification, design, maintenance, and assembly of firmwide desktop images across both physical and virtual environments such as Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). You will coordinate with application owners, Help Desk staff, Security and Network Engineering teams, and more to create a seamless operating experience for users. Key responsibilities include :

  • Developing and maintaining tools for deploying computer operating system images in alignment with firmwide user and client requirements.
  • Consulting as a systems analyst to provide integration advice throughout the Firm.
  • Designing and documenting training for technology department team members on operating system and application utilization.
  • Creating and executing test plans to ensure comprehensive functionality across the firm's applications.
  • Implementing software deployment packages and scripts for efficient installation across a diverse, international user base.
  • Managing the release management process for desktop environments.
  • Conducting periodic audits of desktops to ensure software licensing compliance.
  • Staying current with technology trends via manuals, reports, and online resources.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience :

Required :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, MECM, Intune, iManage, and other firm applications after onboarding.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
  • 5+ years of experience with multiple Windows desktop operating system versions, application analysis, and integrating new hardware.
  • Competency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or VB Script.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with MacOS Management and mobile device management applications.
  • Experience with application deployment tools like PatchMyPC, Intune, or SCCM.
  • Participation in a 7x24 on-call rotation.
  • Preferred :

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment.

  • Cooley offers a competitive salary and benefits package, committed to equitable employment practices. The expected annual pay range for this position is $125,000 - $190,000, dependent on location, experience, and skill set.
