A day in this role
Based in Covington, GA, you start your morning calibrating a new estimate for an industrial mechanical project. You review drawings and specs, confirm scope with a project manager and an engineer, and translate that information into precise quantities for labor, materials, and overhead. Midday, you compare supplier pricing and subcontractor bids, looking for trends that keep estimates competitive without sacrificing accuracy. By late afternoon, you help shape a project budget and forecast, document every assumption, and share cost insights in a team meeting. You wrap up by refining templates and checklists to make tomorrow’s estimates even sharper.
