Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

You will be primarily responsible for the management of the avionics product lifecycle on the New Glenn Program, including Product Development and Qualification, New Product Introduction (NPI), sustaining production and avionics test support. You'll work closely with our Integrated Product Team leadership and our external manufacturing partners to drive product lifecycle through the stages of completion to mature production. You will work with assembly and operations personnel to test and deliver the elements and integrated system within schedule and budget.

This position closely resembles a Technical Project Manager (TPM) role, focusing on the entire lifecycle of avionics for the New Glenn vehicle.

  • Coordinate with supply chain management and partner with contract manufacturers to negotiate, plan, implement and deliver avionics products (including End Item Data Packages [EIDPs]) in alignment with program business and technical goals and procurement timelines.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Management to strengthen supplier relationships by presenting program and product business and technical product development information and changes to suppliers, while also conveying supplier capabilities, performance, and execution to engineering teams and management.
  • Create and coordinate the demand signal for hardware purchases, partnering with supporting functions including Supply Chain Planning, Production Control delivery.
  • Participate in Supply Chain led status meetings with suppliers to monitor product , Fulfillment, Accounts Payable, and Supplier Quality to facilitate order placement and product performance, address risks, resolve issues, track execution, and ensure quality product design and manufacturing processes, incorporating DFX feedback where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal product test teams, contract manufacturer and contract test house to plan and conduct product functional, acceptance and qualification testing.
  • Drive IPTs by handlin scope changes, deviations, and schedule adjustments, serving as the primary technical supplier contact, and guiding supplier selection based on strategic criteria by working with the commodity managers team.
  • Support Supply Chain Management in managing and building product strategies for critical components like Instrumentation Sensors, Batteries and Avionics Boxes, ensuring meticulous technical and supply chain coordination, risk management, and alignment to schedule and cost expectations.
