The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA or The Authority) is one of the
largest transit organizations in the United States, providing three core transit functions :
Metrorail, Metrobus, and Metro Access paratransit. Average weekday passenger trips combined
on all three modes total approximately one million. To prepare, develop, train, and certify the
Metro workforce needed to service these functions, the Office of the Technical Training and
Development division of our Safety and Readiness department is responsible for developing and
update training materials on a periodic basis for all rail operations, bus operations, transit
infrastructure maintenance, and fleet maintenance personnel. Additionally, revisions to training
materials due to changes in procedure or equipment as well as refresher trainings are frequently
required.
Required Knowledge and Abilities :
