The Registered Nurse provides individualized care primarily for medical and telemetry patients with a co-occurring Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
• Provide safe and comprehensive care to patient at various points in recovery
• Act as patient advocate
• Administer medications as ordered
• Monitor patient condition and provide appropriate interventions when necessary
• Contribute to building and maintaining a team oriented environment
• Encourage patient success and help to foster an environment of recovery
• Help facilitate safe discharge plans including aftercare when appropriate
• Effectively delegate to and supervise support staff

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current and unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or the ability to obtain.
• Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess health needs of patients and to perform nursing care in a safe, caring manner Preferred Qualifications :
• One year of acute care nursing experience
• BSN or ADN / ASN and actively enrolled in a BSN program
• Experience with substance abuse
• Epic experience
