Be.Workplace Design is looking for a talented and experienced Sr. Designer for Healthcare and Architectural Products, with experience in design and delivery of interior architecture projects focusing on integrated interior environments and sustainable solutions. As a key team member, you will collaborate within a dynamic project team to help expand our presence in the Bay Area. You will engage customers and industry influencers in forward-thinking discussions and workshops to address strategic challenges using your creativity, skills, and expertise.

Overview :
Provides design services to dealership customers, including site / inventory verifications, programming, space planning, typical development, color boards / working / installation drawings, specifications, and site-to-plan review. Works closely with dealership sales, order entry, and installation groups, as well as customers, to ensure accurate plans and specifications, conformance to client's requirements, customer satisfaction, and high-quality project implementation.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
Design Process
- Demonstrate extensive design theory, space planning, and project management knowledge in healthcare, life science, and commercial markets.
- Utilize a range of methods, including 3D software renderings, to communicate design concepts.
- Attend client planning meetings; present plans and information to customers for review and approval.
- Review sites; conduct field measurements and plan-to-site adherence checks.
- Inventory existing products; produce as-built drawings / specifications.
- Conduct in-depth programming and produce program reports; interview customers / end users, research workplace requirements, analyze space and furniture needs.
- Develop and present block and space plans, gaining customer approval.
- Develop and present color / finish boards and selections, gaining customer approval.
- Develop finished working drawings for specifications and installation; validate plans against construction. Handle electrical engineering and A&D drawing sets; gain customer approval.
- Develop product specifications; double-check specifications against plans; prepare specifications for order entry using electronic programs if possible.
- Manage changes and revisions.
- Conduct field and punch-list reviews with project managers and / or installation teams.
Departmental Practices
Assist in writing and presenting design proposals and contracts to customers.Maintain detailed project documentation, including key decisions, communications, approvals, and notes from planning meetings.Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, design tasks, and quality standards.Communicate regularly with customers and dealership regarding project status.Manage invoice and billing processes for assigned projects.Prepare plotting, printing, color boards, etc., for client and dealership transmittals.Coordination / Planning
Coordinate phone, data, and network planning with electricians, IT personnel, and vendors.Conduct pre-installation meetings; transmit project work order information to relevant groups.Ensure accurate transmission of planning data to all involved teams.Organizational Interfaces
Manage interfaces with clients, contractors, trades, A&D firms, and internal teams.Contract Furniture / Design Industry Knowledge
Knowledge of healthcare and lab planning, products, and textiles.Strong understanding of interior design practices and current trends.Awareness of workplace issues like ergonomics and technology integration.Working knowledge of dealership's furniture lines, features, pricing, and specifications.Understanding of building codes, ADA, and electrical standards.Knowledge of contract furniture processes, including ordering, project management, and delivery.Additional benefits include :
