This role provides an opportunity to enhance and develop processes to support the future of our enhanced oil recovery and energy transition business units through understanding and analyzing our operational and capital spending. The position will lead a team of dedicated analysts and interact with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Planning / forecasting – oversee the execution of weekly and quarterly forecasts of operating costs and capital expenditures, manage group work efforts, perform in‑depth analysis, identify cost drivers, and report results for management updates.
- Budgeting – coordinate staff efforts in preparing, compiling, and reporting segment budgets; provide support to asset operating teams in developing cost metrics and other financial data required for budget preparation.
- Financial analysis and reporting – direct group efforts to review asset profitability, develop KPIs, evaluate capital project economics, cost structure, and market price impacts; identify opportunities to improve segment profitability; provide value‑added financial analysis to assist management in strategic decision‑making.
- Management – lead and manage the operational finance group; report directly to VP Finance with approximately 10 staff and contractors; recruit, evaluate, mentor staff, and implement company goals and objectives.
- Leadership – provide leadership and support to financial staff and all segment team members; maintain an honest and ethical work environment while managing completion of team objectives during peak work periods.
- Vision – determine areas for process improvement and drive the implementation of best‑in‑class processes, including potential system implementation.
Qualifications
