Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Chicago, IL 60612 - Prime downtown location for Illinois nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : General Medicine / Telemetry Unit 7E (Level 1 Trauma Center) Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 12 / 2025, End : 2 / 11 / 2026) Nursing Shifts : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 (Guaranteed) Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (2 weekends / month) Floating : Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles - flexibility required Scrub Color : Navy Blue Charting System : Cerner Parking : $2 / day at JTDC with shuttle service every 15 minutes Estimated Weekly Salary : $1800 - $1840 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as a Med / Surg Registered Nurse BLS certification (American Heart Association) required NIHSS certification required ACLS certification preferred COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions only) Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system Clinical skills : dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, peripheral line care, rapid response / code team participation Ability to float to various units within a 50-mile radius as needed Strong compliance and documentation skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in the General Medicine / Telemetry Unit Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, provide tracheostomy and peripheral line care Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed Float to other nursing units within scope to support facility needs Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, including time off and vaccination requirements Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
