Indmar Marine Engines is seeking a dependable, quality-focused individual to join our Machine Shop department. Experienced Machinists only need to apply, we will not train. This full-time position offers a competitive salary depending upon experience with a consistent daytime schedule. Punctuality and good attendance are crucial to success in this position. Work hours are 6 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Eligible for a $40.00 weekly attendance bonus. Candidate must have a valid driver's license and own reliable transportation. If selected, must complete pre-employment screenings which include a drug and background check. POSITION SUMMARY : The Machinist is responsible for leading the Machine Shop which includes writing CNC programs, training machine operators and setting up and running CNC and manual machines.

Requirements :

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Write CNC programs and performs run tests for functionality.
  • Creates setup instructions and other production documentation for CNC machines.
  • Work to improves existing programs.
  • Setup and operate multiple CNC milling machines and lathes.
  • Performs routine maintenance on machines, including preventive maintenance.
  • Analyze engineering designs and drawings for in-house manufacturability.
  • Trains CNC operators on CNC programs and blueprint readings.
  • Set up fixturing, tooling and work offsets.
  • Sets up and operates manual machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machines, and drill / tap machines.
  • Check finished parts with go or no-go gauges.
  • Checks and maintains coolant and lubrication levels for machining operations.
  • Clean and maintain work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • The ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to write and adjust programs for CNC machines.
  • Must have advanced math skills.
  • Must read and use precision instruments for quality control.
  • Must understand and utilize GD&T code programming.
  • Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft suite; Experience with an ERP system is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize workload and manage projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Good communication skills in necessary to effectively communicate with leadership and members of other departments.
  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Technical degree or Machine Tool certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years CNC experience in a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience with Miltronic VM 30 machines and experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS : Constant noise from machinery.

    PHYSICAL EFFORT : Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently.
