Hydrologic & Hydraulic Engineer (Water Resources)

We are seeking an experienced

• Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) Engineer with 8 or more years of experience in hydrology and hydraulics design
• to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the

• planning and design of hydrologic and hydraulic systems
• for a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects, including highway and bridge improvements, railroad and facility projects, flood resiliency and stormwater management systems, and other water resources assignments. You will work alongside highly experienced and respected H&H team leaders, mentor junior staff, and interact directly with clients to deliver high-quality, compliant designs.
• Responsibilities
• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modeling for transportation, site, and infrastructure projects
• Perform roadway drainage and stormwater management design, including open and closed systems
• Conduct floodplain studies, hydraulic modeling, and scour evaluations using tools such as
• HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, PondPack, HydroCAD, or WMS
• Prepare stormwater management reports, soil erosion control plans, and permit applications
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, environmental staff, and regulatory agencies to support project permitting and approvals
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Manage project tasks, schedules and budgets; provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers
• Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of
• 8 years
• of progressive experience in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, and stormwater management design
• Experience with with
• transportation projects
• preferred - including work for agencies such as
• NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority and Port Authority of NY & NJ
• ; experience in PA and NY also valued
• Proficiency with H&H modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, PondPack, etc.)
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong ability to interact with clients and internal teams professionally
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Preferred / Plus Qualifications
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• license in NJ, NY or PA
• Familiarity with
• NJDEP Flood Hazard Area and Stormwater Management regulations
• , and / or
• NPDES and FEMA compliance
• Experience with
• FEMA floodplain mapping and coastal resiliency projects
• Proficiency in GIS applications for H&H analysis
• Advanced degree (M.S.) in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a water resources focus a plus
