Corrections Officer - JIAC Intake & Assessment - CORRECTIONS

Pay : $22.35 per hour

Work Schedule : Wed 5p-11p, Thurs-Fri 11a-11p, Sat 1p-11p; Including Holidays

Performs routine work carrying out the intake and assessment procedures for clients brought to the Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center (JIAC) within the Department of Corrections (DOC) and monitors clients while in the facility.

Intake & Assessment

• Interviews clients utilizing motivational interviewing skills. Completes intake portion of database when law enforcement presents clients for assessment; completes fingerprinting, mug shots, and as necessary, DNA.
• Enters accurate demographic information into the database.
• Creates and / or modifies records in database, demonstrates high quality writing and proofreading skills; ensures timely completion of records, and accurately files records.

Supervisor Extender

Minimum Qualifications : High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent, and either two (2) years of college coursework in human services or other related field, or two (2) years' experience working with youth and families. Transcript verifying education credits is required. Professional references are required to verify the related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications : Two (2) years of experience working with youth and families. Professional references are required to verify the related work experience. Bachelor's degree.
