Job Title : National Senior Account Manager Location : Chino, CA (Hybrid / Flexible) Salary Range : $110,000 – $150,000 annually, plus performance incentives
Overview : We are seeking a highly experienced National Senior Account Manager to lead strategic account growth within the pet food category. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven, results-oriented professional with a strong track record in national account management, retail partnerships, and consumer packaged goods—preferably within the pet industry. The position will oversee key national retailers and distributors, driving revenue growth, improving product distribution, and leading collaborative business planning.
Key Responsibilities :
Own and manage national retail accounts, including developing annual business plans, sales forecasts, and promotional strategies.
Strengthen and expand long-term relationships with major retailers, distributors, and key decision-makers.
Drive national sales performance by identifying growth opportunities across product lines, channels, and segments.
Lead joint business planning (JBP) and negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional programs to achieve revenue and margin goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure successful execution of sales strategies.
Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to inform strategic recommendations.
Monitor account performance through sales reporting, KPIs, and category reviews; present regular updates to leadership.
Oversee trade spending allocations and ensure ROI targets are met.
Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Mentor and support junior account managers or sales coordinators as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
7+ years of experience in national account management within the CPG industry; pet food or pet care experience highly preferred.
Proven success managing large national retail accounts (e.g., big-box, club, grocery, specialty, e-commerce).
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent analytical abilities, with experience using syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, Spins, etc.).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with cross-functional responsibilities.
Willingness to travel up to 25–40% for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
