SCHEDULE : 40 h0ours, Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 am-5 pm

Pays $ 66,372 annually DOE

LOCATION : 170 Morton Street, Jamaica Plain, MA & 1 Lingard Street Dorchester, MA

This individual oversees and directs all housekeeping, maintenance and repair work at the Shattuck campus, including the Men's Shelter, food service and Stabilization Programs.

Essential Functions :

  • Comprehensive oversight of all facilities, maintenance and housekeeping shelter operations at both Shattuck Shelter and Holy Family Inn Shelter
  • Oversee the daily operations of both shelter's physical facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors
  • Work closely with other departments to coordinate facility needs and improvements.
  • Schedule and supervise housekeeping staff for optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Supervise external cleaning vendor closely for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and order as needed.
  • Ensure vendors and contractors have appropriate direction and project management while on properties
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met throughout the shelters
  • Schedule and supervise housekeeping staff for optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and order as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and external partners.
  • Review vendor invoices for project completeness and reconciliation
  • Liaise with Shattuck Hospital kitchen operations, laundry operations and security operations.

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Valid MA driver's license
  • Three- five years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in facilities management and / or housekeeping function
  • Significant experience overseeing facilities or housekeeping functions in a social service or hospital environment
  • Strong Microsoft office computer experience including, excel, word and outlook skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50-100 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs and handle a hand truck / dolly
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time
