This position is highly independent, detail oriented and will require strong decision-making skills. This team member will perform a wide range of duties related to deposit account support. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of information by making sure that the daily processes and tasks are completed in a timely manner with -minimal errors or exceptions. The Deposit Operations Associate II is responsible for providing telephone, teams, and email support to external and internal members, fielding inquiries, and fulfilling requests.

Location : South Burlington, VT with the option to become fully remote after 90-day orientation period.

Hours : 9 : 30 am - 6 : 15 pm

Description :

  • Check processing to include RDC check review, check file processing, check exceptions and dishonored checks. This will include an in depth understanding of the process and an understanding of rules and regulations surrounding the process; the ability to troubleshoot errors or out-of-balance conditions that may occur; in addition to making suggestions for change and updates to procedures is required.
  • ACH processing to include daily processing of ACH files, ACH origination setup and maintenance, ACH disputes and ACH research. This will include an in depth understanding of the process and an understanding of rules and regulations surrounding the process; the ability to troubleshoot errors or out-of-balance conditions that may occur; in addition to making suggestions for change and updates to procedures is required.
  • Provides a high level of support to internal and external teams as well as direct contact with members. Listens effectively to identify problems and provide solutions. This could result in a large number of interruptions which may require a significant amount of time to resolve. The ability to refocus attention effectively on daily tasks after disruption is required.
  • Ensure the proper resolution of deceased member relationships. This will include direct communication with Estate Representatives, Trustees, surviving family members in addition to others to complete the distribution and ownership changes related to deceased member accounts.
  • IRA review, support and maintenance to include quality control reports, processing IRA transfers and death disbursements, and supporting our retail team and members. This will include an in depth understanding of the process and an understanding of rules and regulations surrounding the process; the ability to troubleshoot errors or out-of-balance conditions that may occur; in addition to making suggestions for change and updates to procedures is required
  • Deposit account integrity reviews to include quality control, fiduciary relationships, business accounts, powers of attorney and compliance reviews. Supporting fiduciary relationships may include the review of legal documents as well as communication with attorneys, as appropriate.
  • Wire processing which may include incoming wire posting and outgoing wire review and processing.
  • Performs miscellaneous assigned tasks. May include research pertaining to rules, compliance, errors, out of balance conditions, as well as other areas necessary to support and assist our team and others pertaining to Deposit Operations tasks.
  • Must Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Experience :

Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

A high school degree or equivalent

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and / or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and / or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Other Skills

Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required. (Motor Vehicle check dependent on position.) Travel to other branches or locations as required. Embody EastRise’s Purpose, Guiding Principles and Cultural Guideposts. Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Exhibits excellent attention to detail, organization, interpersonal, and listening skills. Ability to work independently. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

ADA RequirementsPhysical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and / or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and / or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
