Position Overview
This role offers a warm and welcoming first impression to patients and guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. You will collaborate closely with clinical teams and business offices to optimize patient flow, minimize wait times, and enhance overall satisfaction. Front office duties rotate periodically to maintain engagement and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
- Rotate through various front office assignments as scheduled by management, including coordinating peer discussions.
- Manage phone communications and voicemail promptly.
- Process incoming and outgoing faxes efficiently.
- Complete recall lists in a timely manner.
- Protect patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring HIPAA compliance and displaying the Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Assist patients with form completion when needed.
- Coordinate new patient appointments, ensuring all necessary records are obtained beforehand.
- Update patient demographic information and register new patients in the Practice Management system.
- Verify insurance eligibility, collect and scan identification and insurance cards, and obtain necessary signatures on financial and privacy forms.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances due.
- Enter required MACRA measurements into the electronic health record (EHR) system upon patient arrival.
- Prepare patient records and packets for infusion visits, verify eligibility, and create financial identification numbers.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and ensure prior authorizations and orders are current.
- Process medical records requests and manage transcribed documents for physician signatures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year healthcare experience with front desk responsibilities.Familiarity with insurance types such as HMO and PPO preferred.Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and cooperation skills.High ethical standards and professional integrity.Bilingual abilities are a plus.Education
High school diploma or GED required.Certification
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (healthcare provider) preferred.Successful candidates must pass a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
