It Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Manager who will oversee our IT operations while also serving as a hands-on resource for daily support. This individual will manage our technology infrastructure, ensure compliance with all required information technology standards, and provide exceptional end-user support across macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu systems. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building machines, troubleshooting user issues, and managing enterprise IT platforms.
Day-to-Day IT Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, resolving issues related to hardware, software, networking, and user accounts.
- Build, configure, maintain and distribute macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu machines for employees.
- Manage device lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, and decommissioning.
- Provide support for collaboration and communication platforms including Slack, Zoom, and MS Teams.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, VPN, and remote access issues.
- Maintain IT documentation, knowledge base, and standard operating procedures.
Leadership & Project Management
Interact regularly with leadership as a primary point of contact for technology initiatives and effective system and platform utilization.Develop project plans and provide transition planning oversight for new initiatives.Develop project standards and practices to ensure consistent and reliable implementations across projects.Identify opportunities to leverage the technology platform to provide operational efficiencies.A broad understanding of managing projects with the ability to deliver on a large number of success criteria.Systems & Network Administration
Maintain and administer a cloud based technology platform architecture.Administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, including user accounts, permissions, and security settings.Manage identity and access via JumpCloud (MFA, SSO, endpoint policies).Monitor and maintain network health using appropriate tools, ensuring availability and performance.Configure, support, and secure Palo Alto Networks technologies including Firewalls, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect VPN.Oversee system and network monitoring, ensuring timely resolution of alerts and incidents.Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain CMMC compliance controls, including access management, logging, patching, and endpoint security.Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure ongoing compliance and audit readiness.Drive IT security awareness and best practices across the organization.Required Qualifications :
Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition of employment. Edge Case will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.5+ years of IT administration / support experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration.Hands-on experience with Slack, Zoom, and JumpCloud or similar IAM.Experience managing and provisioning of FreshService, or equivalent ticketing service.Hands on experience with Automation of services for end user support and development such as JIRA automation.Strong knowledge of networking and Palo Alto products (Firewall, Prisma Access, GlobalProtect VPN).Experience with CMMC compliance or other security frameworks (NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, etc.).Skilled in building and supporting macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu systems.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto PCNSE / PCNSA, Microsoft 365 Certified, or Google Workspace Administrator.Prior experience in SMB or mid-sized IT environments where flexibility and multitasking are critical.Familiarity with zero-trust security principles and cloud-first IT models.5 years of experience with the following required : Cloud Computing, Windows, Linux and MacOS, AWS / Azure, Microsoft O365, VMWare, Storage Administration, Backup & Recovery technologies, Collaboration software such as Zoom, Slack and MS Teams, VPN services, Network configuration, monitoring and management.Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrated ability to foster positive and constructive working relationships.Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities.Strong business acumen and an in-depth understanding of the technology and financial implications of project success.Why Edge Case Research?

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
