- Participates in facility committees on behalf of Respiratory Therapy
- Participates in Regional Peri-Natal Designation process
- Maintains proficiency in the processing and interpreting of point of care (POC) blood gases, glucose, and electrolytes; and collaborates on quality control with the POC Coordinator.
- Attends deliveries and performs resuscitative duties as part of NICU team.
- Attends high risk deliveries at outlying hospitals with RN for gestational age >

Attends high risk deliveries at outlying hospitals with RN & NNP for gestational ageCross-trains and maintains proficiency in taping IV’s, Assisting in umbilical line placement, placing oro / nasogastric tubes required. Maintaining proficiency in intubation and surfactant administrationOperating, troubleshooting, and monitoring of respiratory equipment during air and ground transport including ambulance, helicopter and fixed wing.Maintains a high level of critical thinking to allow for appropriate utilization of protocol driven treatments in the absence of a physicianMaintains Transport Certification by attending yearly skills lab and helicopter safety educationAttends annual chest tube education and education with the Medical DirectorAttends monthly transport meetings, Morbidity & Mortatlity Review, and quarterly transport education if provided.Provides education to hospitals within the region when neededMay require on call coverage for unit or transport.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications : Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program Minimum 1 year respiratory experience required, 6 months critical care.
