QA Selenium Tester

Automation Framework Development

Earlier this year, we hired a resource to build out our automation framework. This individual has evaluated options and selected Selenium , an open-source test automation tool. The next steps involve organizing and executing the framework, requiring additional engineering-focused skills to :

  • Take inventory of existing manual test scripts.
  • Identify which scripts can be automated and integrated into the CI / CD pipeline .
  • Support release and vendor application testing, with a strong emphasis on regression testing .
  • Generate kickoff reports to reduce reliance on manual testers and the current volunteer testing group.

Regression testing will be especially critical during the upcoming migration.

Overview

QA Roles Future Cancer Hospital Project

  • Purpose : QA staffing to support ramp-up and collaboration efforts.
  • Focus Areas :

    • Manual testing of vendor applications.

  • Highly configured releases requiring extensive regression testing.
  • Integration testing for OnCore scripts (well-defined implementation).
  • Documenting test scripts in a standardized system to build a comprehensive manual test portfolio.
  • Current Needs :
  • Automation Framework :

    • Existing framework initiated earlier this year using Selenium (open-source).

  • Responsibilities include organizing and executing test automation, integrating manual scripts into CI / CD pipeline, and reducing reliance on manual regression testing.
  • Tools & Skills :

    • Jira, Confluence for project management.

  • Python scripting.
  • Ability to write and document manual test scripts (not just execution).
  • Vendor application testing (no development).
  • Applications :

    • Clinical management trial systems : OnCore, Iris, Inform, REDCap.

  • Integrated with EPIC (upstream and downstream).
  • Preferred Background : Academic research experience helpful but not mandatory.
  • Future Focus : Transition to translational research (data-centric, different skill sets) in the new year.
