The Carl J Shapiro Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (an affiliate of Beth Israel Lahey Health) and Harvard Medical School seek applications and nominations for an Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction Surgeon with a very strong interest in orthopaedic education and clinical research. This is an employed position of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc. (HMFP). The incumbent is expected to provide strong clinical, educational, and research activities within the Division. Preferential consideration will be given to applicants who possess a strong academic and research track record. Academic Rank at Harvard Medical School (HMS) is commensurate with experience, training and achievements. Faculty appointment decisions are solely the purview of HMS. Clinical practice will be based at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Level I trauma center in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, with additional clinical opportunities or requirements for practice at other sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network including New England Baptist Hospital, BIDMC Needham, and other BILH affiliates. Candidates must have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency training program, a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction, be board certified / board eligible, and be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. Proposed academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and academic achievements.
