Respiratory Therapist
SUMMARY
Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes. Educates the patient and family about the illness and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. Other duties as assigned. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Graduate of approved Respiratory Therapy program.Diploma and / or transcripts must be provided for validation.Required Length and Type of Experience
Prior experience in critical care preferred.Neonatal / pediatric experience preferredPrior experience performing invasive procedures preferredRequired Licensure or Certification
Registered (RRT) or Certified (CRT) Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory CareOhio Respiratory Care Professional( RCP) Board licensureBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) requiredNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) requiredPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association requiredRequired Physical and Environmental Demands
