Certified Surgical Technologist

In this role, you'll primarily work from home, but you must be within the Eastern Standard Time zone. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM EST or CST.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct initial assessments of appeals, medical records, and CMS / State Policies to evaluate coverage and eligibility of care / services provided.
• Determine if additional information is necessary to process appeals.
• Adapt to ongoing changes and cross-train on various appeal types as they arise.
• Work independently while showcasing strong clinical nursing judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Navigate multiple computer systems while effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.

Your Qualifications :

Valid and unrestricted RN licensure in your state of residence.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care or outpatient setting.

At least 1 year of experience in areas such as Utilization Review, Medicaid and / or Medicare appeals, or discharge planning.

Understanding of billable services and claims in a managed care environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and possess basic computer skills.

Access to high-speed internet.

Availability to work 8 AM to 5 PM EST.

Preferred Qualifications :

5+ years of Medical Appeal experience dealing with Medicare and Medicaid.

Experience in coding or hold a Certified Coder (CPC) certification.
