Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will document the companys financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data and transactions
• Analyze budgets and other financial information
• Reconcile bank statements
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations
• Process payroll
• Support the monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Prepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Review and process vendor invoices; assist in managing accounts payable
• Support accounts receivable efforts and monitor aging reports
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts with accuracy and timeliness
• Assist with job costing, WIP tracking, and project-related accounting
• Reconcile employee expense reports and credit card transactions
• Maintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal control
• Assist with payroll and benefits reconciliation as needed
• Work directly with Controller on special projects and audits

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field
• Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• 13 years of accounting experience (public or private); construction or restoration industry a plus
