Director Of It Project Management

The Director of IT Project Management at Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is a key leadership role responsible for driving strategic IT initiatives and partnerships while ensuring the effective delivery of IT services across the college. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Office (CTO), the Director will provide leadership, direction, and support to ensure that IT projects and services align with the college's goals and objectives. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership, project management, and service management skills.

Responsibilities include leading and managing IT projects, ensuring the successful delivery of IT services that meet the college's strategic objectives; developing and maintaining effective communication with the project sponsor(s) and project team; overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of a diverse portfolio of IT projects; assisting project sponsors in defining project scope, objectives, cost, and timeline; collaborating with IT teams to develop, document, and maintain IT documentation for all implementations; negotiating contracts, procuring IT equipment, evaluating vendor performance, and optimizing vendor relationships; ensuring IT policies, procedures, and practices comply with relevant technology governance and regulations; participating in college-wide governance committees; and providing leadership and mentorship to other team members, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field; a minimum of five years in a leadership role; demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse team environment; proven track record of successfully managing projects and programs; strong knowledge of project management methodologies; excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
