SUMMARY

The Field Engineer supports the design, build, and maintenance of fiber and copper distribution networks to enable the delivery of next-generation phone, high-speed internet, digital IPTV, and carrier-class Ethernet products. This position plays a key role in initiatives focused on operational excellence and best practices aligned with United Communications vision and mission. Additionally, the Field Engineer will perform related fieldwork and interface with developers and other utilities to represent United.

POSITION SCHEDULE AND ONSITE REQUIREMENTS

This is a direct-hire, full-time position based out of our Chapel Hill office. The role is primarily field-based and requires travel throughout our Middle Tennessee territory. A company vehicle is provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.

Audit the quality of work performed by third-party contractors and internal resources, ensuring compliance with RUS and industry specifications.

Provide Support for pole attachment matters, including planning and coordinating transfers and make-readies.
