What this job involves - JLL is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to oversee the comprehensive management, maintenance, and optimization of a world class manufacturing complex in the defense sector. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective facility operations while supporting business objectives and occupant satisfaction across our diverse portfolio.
What Will Be Your Day-to-Day?
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day facility operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize asset life and minimize downtime
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure optimal performance and value
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (building codes, safety, environmental)
- Coordinate space planning, moves, and modifications to support client needs
Financial Management
Develop and manage annual facility budgets and capital expenditure plansTrack and analyze operational expenses, identifying cost reduction opportunitiesNegotiate contracts with service providers and suppliersPrepare comprehensive financial reports and variance analysesTeam Leadership
Lead and develop facilities management staff to achieve performance excellenceCoordinate with internal stakeholders (HR, IT, Security, Operations)Manage external contractors and service providersConduct performance reviews and provide ongoing professional developmentStrategic Planning
Develop long-term facility strategic plans aligned with business objectivesAssess space utilization and recommend optimization strategiesEvaluate new technologies and sustainability initiativesSupport workplace transformation and hybrid work modelsRequired Qualifications
7+ years of progressive facilities management experience in commercial real estate3+ years in a supervisory or management roleExperience working in a facilities related role in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in CAFM / IWMS software systems (preferably JLL platforms)Understanding of building automation systems (BAS) and IoT technologiesKnowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safetyStrong financial acumen and budget management experiencePreferred Qualifications
Professional certifications : CFM (Certified Facility Manager), FMP (Facility Management Professional), SFP (Sustainability Facility Professional), or LEED APExperience supporting Fortune 500 clients or large corporate portfoliosKnowledge of workplace strategy and space optimization initiativesAdvanced proficiency in business intelligence and data analytics toolsExperience with smart building technologies and predictive maintenance systemsKnowledge of emergency preparedness and business continuity planningFamiliarity with ESG reporting and sustainability frameworksLocation : South Columbus, OH
Compensation Range : $100,000 - $135,000 + bonus potential
