Senior Structural Engineer - Bridge / Transportation | Orlando / Tampa

VHB's structural engineering group plays a vital role in developing and enhancing connectivity through infrastructure projects such as complex bridge and interchange designs, rehabilitation and inspection, pedestrian walkways, and transit stations. This diverse range of structural engineering services helps improve mobility for the traveling public. VHB is growing its Southeastern region and is in search of a Senior Structural Engineer. Joining our team means becoming a part of an already successful and award-winning firm whose dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking environment lead the industry with cutting-edge model-based bridge design of transportation related projects in Florida, Georgia, and throughout our footprint along the east coast of the US.

In this position, primarily, you would serve in a lead technical role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects - from highway to pedestrian to rail - as well as mentor our structural team. You would also serve as a Project Manager and be expected to assist with project pursuits. The ideal candidate should possess a "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.

Responsibilities

Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects

• Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation packages
• Provide technical support / mentorship to structural engineering staff
• Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.
• Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and / or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling
• Provide project management and project pursuit support
• Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews

Minimum Qualifications :

(i.e. Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Midas, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)
