Job descriptionLead and facilitate group and individual activities designed to meet senior patients' needs, abilities, and interests. Document all activities conducted, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping. Support clerical functions such as completing chart audits and other clerical tasks as delegated by the Unit Director. The Activities Specialist will assist in the Social Work department as assigned by the Director of Social Work. The tasks may include clerical work, interviews with patients and families, correspondence with referring facilities, participation in outreach activity. Maintain patient and staff safety at all times, adhering to Troy Regional Medical Center policies and CMS / TJC guidelines. Education : Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university in Social Work, Health Sciences, or a related field. LBSW preferred. Experience : Minimum 1-year hospital experience; Geriatric Dementia or mental health experience is preferred. CPR certification required. CPI certification required. NCCAP or similar Activity Professional Certification required within 6 months of hire. Strong communication skills and sensitivity to patient issues and feelings. Professional demeanor with a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. This role is vital in enhancing our senior patients' physical and mental well-being through engaging and therapeutic activities. - The Activities Tech will play a crucial role in providing both group and individual activities to restore and maintain our patients' physical and psychosocial wellbeing.
- Working closely with the Activities Director and the Unit Director, this position will enhance the quality of life for our senior patients through thoughtfully designed activities programs.
