Distribution Manager Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage distribution functions at our Columbus headquarters and satellite locations.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures for various logistics activities including receiving, picking, shipping, and more.
  • Evaluate training needs and promote continuous employee development to improve performance and reduce turnover.
  • Design and track key performance indicators focusing on productivity, cost efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and clients to streamline logistics and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead the adoption of advanced technologies such as barcode systems, ERP, and WMS tools.
  • Initiate continuous improvement projects using LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and implement an annual operating plan aimed at achieving financial and operational targets.
  • Conduct routine inventory audits and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and full inventories.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for strategic planning and executive review.
  • Occasionally travel, approximately 20%, to ensure branch operations are aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management; experience in the automotive aftermarket is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing systems and scalable operational processes.
  • Expertise in LEAN or Six Sigma for process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive mindset, and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills for leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with hands-on experience in ERP and WMS systems.
