Job descriptionAssociate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology 3+ years SDS2 3D modeling / detailing experience Strong understanding of AISC, AWS, ASCE, IBC, ANSI, OSHA standards Attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication skills Experience with structural steel fabrication / construction preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office; on-site work required (45 hrs / week)
Seeking a skilled Structural Steel 3D Detailer to model and detail dry bulk storage structures from concept to production. This hands-on role involves creating 3D models, detailing 2D drawings, generating CNC and materials lists, and supporting fabrication and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D structural models using SDS2 (columns, beams, bracing, stairs, railings, etc.)
- Produce 2D erection, fabrication, and anchor bolt drawings
- Translate customer and engineering requirements into manufacturable designs
- Prepare material lists, bolt counts, and load plans for procurement and shipping
- Review and approve fabrication packages and cut lists
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams to meet deadlines
