Controls Engineer

Description

Leidos is looking for a talented and experienced PLC Controls Engineer to join our team. This role is based at our Walled Lake, Michigan office and provides an incredible opportunity to contribute to high-performance projects that deliver innovative control services and solutions.

Primary Responsibilities :

In this role, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and consultants to design and implement state-of-the-art solutions for various industrial and commercial clients. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, which includes system requirements analysis, hardware design, PLC programming, integration, verification, and commissioning of controls systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep controls experience, knowledge of industry standards, and outstanding communication skills to meet all project requirements.

Basic Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree with at least two (2) years of relevant experience (additional years of related experience may be considered in place of a degree).
• Proficient in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and / or Schneider PLC / HMI Programming.
• Strong understanding of A / C and low voltage D / C electrical circuits.
• Excellent skills in controls programming and troubleshooting.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
• Competence in using testing and metering devices.
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and software.
• Demonstrated professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication capabilities.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in a professional setting.
• Must be able to climb stairs and / or ladders.
• Comfortable working in both a customer site and office environments.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Willingness to walk up to five (5) miles on unpaved surfaces.
• Available for travel up to 50% of the time.
