Job Summary : The duties and responsibilities of the interpreter, Spanish-English, is much more about facilitating cross-cultural conversation. Aside from being fluent in understanding and speaking both English and Spanish languages, this professional can also relay concepts between these languages. Subject expertise has a very important role at the same time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Act as a professional interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, personalities, speaking accents and tempos.
• Follow applicable ethics and standards that protect the confidentiality of information
• Identify, resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors
• Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials
• Check translations of technical terms as well as terminology to make sure that they are accurate, remain consistent throughout translation revisions
• Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken or written language to another.
• Provide all parties with clear and exact verbal and written translations and interpretations
• Perform routine activity logs and documentation
• Interpret statements, questions, answers, explanation, arguments, and other verbal communication
• Interpret exactly with no additions nor omissions
• Facilitate effective communication between machine operators and supervisors
• Explain the essential functions of the job.
• Give accurate interpretation of written & verbal communication
• Provide sight translations of documents and written materials
• Basic understanding of equipment to assist machine operators with training
