Job description

Director, Strategic Accounts

The Columbia Sales team partners with external partners and internal teams to understand the needs of consumers and the marketplace. This role leads the team and process.

As the Director, Strategic Accounts, you will focus on Columbia Sportswear's Bass Pro Shop / Cabela's, Famous Footwear, and Shoe Carnival accounts. This role is responsible for developing and executing plans based on company objectives that promote sales growth and customer satisfaction. You will strengthen existing executive-level client relationships and develop new business opportunities within the accounts. You will drive strategy and growth in conjunction with your sales team and cross-functional partners.

How You'll Make A Difference

  • Create a culture of coaching to create an empowered sales team.
  • Identify and execute business strategies that contribute to the key objectives of the Department Store accounts.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to company sales leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to establish successful support, channel, and partner programs.
  • Foster high-performance culture, innovative thinking, and enterprise mindset throughout the organization.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.

You Are

  • Clear and effective communicator in small group settings and with large groups.
  • A strategic thinker who can also manage detail.
  • Well-versed in persuasion, influencing, and negotiation.
  • An adept team leader, organizer, and motivator.
  • Skilled at analyzing market conditions and responding with appropriate strategies.
  • Analytical, including problem-solving skills.
  • You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of successful sales experience building and developing a team.
  • Previous apparel industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience working within a matrixed company environment.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Role model of company core values.
  • 25% travel required.
