An established and growing multifamily builder and owner construction company is looking to add a CFO to their growing company. This is a new position due to growth. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working for a construction GC or real estate development on projects in the $50M-$100M range, and be well‑versed in construction and project accounting, change orders, and lien waivers at the CFO or Senior VP level.

Job Details
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Permanent CFO for our rapidly growing construction company. The ideal candidate will oversee the financial operations, strategy, and growth of our company. This role involves managing financial risks, planning, record‑keeping, and reporting to senior management, as well as managing audits, maintaining relations with partners and investors, and driving the company's financial strategy and planning. You will direct budgeting, reporting, and auditing activities.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement financial strategies for the business, aligning with the company’s objectives.
- Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
- Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management and the Board of Directors.
- Prepare short‑ and long‑term financial forecasts for internal and external use.
- Oversee audit and tax functions; coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firm performance.
- Develop and maintain accounting and administrative policies for financial reporting, employee relations, and other corporate policies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC rules, and Sarbanes‑Oxley regulations.
- Manage corporate and HR activities, including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance, and related activities across all satellite offices.
- Motivate staff to produce high‑quality work within tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Solid experience with construction accounting software such as Timberline, Viewpoint, WIP, T&M, change orders, lien waivers, Vista Viewpoint.Proven experience with year‑end close processes, ledger operations, and invoice management.Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills; effective team player.Excellent problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.Strategic vision with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and operational focus.Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects.Self‑directed and able to work with minimal supervision.Ability to balance project delivery against budget realities and derive meaningful insights from complex financial data.Interested in hearing more?
