CVICU RN Job Details

Location : Austin, TX 78704 (Texas healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Setting : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470 - $1570

Start Date : November 14, 2025

End Date : February 13, 2026

On-Site Position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU or critical care nursing experience

Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and titratable drips

Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support equipment (ECMO, Impella, balloon pumps, CRRT / SLED)

Skilled in caring for respiratory patients (vents, Bipap, trachs, Airvo)

Experience with open heart surgery recovery

Ability to work 4 weekend shifts per schedule (day shift)

Strong team player with a positive, adaptable attitude

CVICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill cardiovascular patients

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage titratable drips and hemodynamic parameters

Care for patients requiring advanced life support (ECMO, Impella, balloon pumps, CRRT / SLED)

Assist with and monitor recovery from open heart surgery

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop individualized care plans

Participate in central line and chest tube insertions, bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, and intubations

Accurately document patient care in the Meditech EMR system

Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive clinical environment
