Job Title
This is a full time 12 : 30pm to 9pm Monday - Friday position. Under the direction of the supervisor, the transporter is responsible for transportation of patients throughout the hospital. Additionally, he / she delivers objects to patient care areas and ensures that transport equipment is properly maintained. Transport staff will assist Public Safety in patient restraints and standbys.
Position Requirements
Education : A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent or must obtain / complete within 6 months of hire. Experience : Hospital or related experience preferred but not required. On the job training provided. Special Qualifications : Must be familiar with equipment used in lifting and transporting patients. Must be familiar with personnel policies within the hospital and the department. Must have knowledge of hospital layout and facilities. Must receive training in dealing with mental patients. BLS certification is required within 30 days of employment.
