Patient Transport Technician
As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe, and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients, and families across the state. This role is based in Peoria and will work a 3rd shift rotation with variable hours during the week and alternating weekends. Please be aware that transports are assigned throughout the scheduled shift hours. It is common for technicians in this role to work well past their scheduled shift end time.
Job Duties :
- Supervision of all patients as assigned to his / her for transportation.
- Provide de-escalation techniques and aggression preventative strategies when necessary.
- Assist the healthcare facility staff in escorting the patient and their belongings to and from the vehicle at both originating and receiving facilities.
- Assure the accuracy and completeness of all company and patient contact paperwork.
- Be responsible for all equipment and supplies as specified on company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.
- Maintains current, State of Illinois drivers license according to provisions set forth by the Illinois Secretary of State and Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Help promote a positive company image.
