Estimator - Heavy Civil

Metric Geo is working with a well respected heavy civil contractor specializing in large-scale infrastructure, roadway, and bridge construction projects. They’re known for their strong technical expertise, innovation, and commitment to building safely and efficiently. Due to continued growth in the Florida region, the company is seeking an Estimator to join its team in Tampa. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent civil engineering graduates or early-career professionals to develop their skills and grow within a leading construction organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and support various aspects of heavy civil construction including scope development, methods, materials, costs, and scheduling.
• Assist estimators and engineers by preparing supporting documentation for bids and proposals.
• Learn to use computer-aided design (CAD) and related software to quantify and analyze project plans.
• Prepare and revise drawings, ensuring accurate dimensions, material specifications, and alignment between project components.
• Support the calculation of quantities and cost estimates under the supervision of experienced estimators and engineers.
• Gain exposure to Design-Build project delivery and coordinate with design teams and engineers as part of the estimating process.
• Help organize and maintain bid documents, drawings, vendor quotes, and proposal records.
• Participate in the collection and analysis of subcontractor and supplier pricing.
