Description : Position Overview

Under the direction of the Dir of Operations and Logistics, the Operations Coordinator will be responsible the logistics of importing goods, ensuring compliance with regulations and tariffs, and overseeing the flow of shipments from origin to destination. Position is not limited to import logistics but includes daily operational responsibilities as well.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Documentation and compliance : Prepare and process all necessary import documents, such as bills of lading and commercial invoices, and ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations and trade laws.
• Communication and liaison : Act as a liaison between suppliers, customers, and internal departments like sales and purchasing. Communicate relevant information to ensure smooth operations.
• Cost and tariff management : Handle costing and ensure tariffs are correctly applied. Advise clients on tariff codes and may negotiate freight rates.
• Record-keeping : Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and prepare reports on costs and delivery times.
• Creates inventory / transit / performance reports for management review
• Communicate with other departments within the business unit.
• Backup other vital operational functions as skills expand
